Biathlon Australia is the peak sporting body governing the sport of Biathlon in Australia.
Biathlon is primarily a winter sport combining elements of cross-country skiing and target shooting. Summer versions of the sport are also practiced, substituting roller-skiing, running, or bike riding for cross-country skiing. Biathlon is a Winter Olympic sport.
Biathlon Australia is affiliated with the international governing body, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) and the Australian Olympic Committee.
Biathlon Australia operates the Whiskey Flat Biathlon Arena at Mt Hotham, Victoria and the Perisher Biathlon Range at Perisher, NSW. The Whiskey Flat Biathlon Arena is the only .22 Biathlon range in Australia and is the location of Australian National Team Selection Races and many of the Team's winter training activities.
