Athletes from the Australian Biathlon Development Team competed at AUT Cup No 2 over the weekend of 8 and 9 Jan in Eisernz, AUT.  The events were a Sprint and a Pursuit with 15yrs and under shooting air-rifle as opposed to the .22 rifles used in AUS.

There were some marked successes, including:

• Qualification to IBU Youth Junior World Championships for Noah Bradford, Phoenix Sparke, Rhiannon Castle and Alessandra Sydun-West
• Great results from Jack Hirst, Samuel Johnson, Ava McCann and Olivia Schubert to have the opportunity to obtain selection subject to lowering their % behind 
• Podium finishes in 14yrs air-rifle from ABA member Damika Morton and Alberto Allan 

Coaching and waxing support was provided by 2014 Sochi Olympian Lucy Glanville who is now actively coaching and 2020 Youth Olympian Chelsey Johnson who stepped in to assist at last minute, due to an SOS from Shadow Olympian Darcie Morton regarding additional support for her in Slovakia. 

Many thanks to the Team managers ABA members Sarah Bradford, Nym McCann and Cheryl Wilby for providing great team support to the athletes and who had a snack packs of nutritious goodies to keep them going over the weekend.
