Dear Biathlon Family,
We are excited to release the AOC approved Biathlon Australia Nomination Criteria for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The Nomination Criteria is linked here.
In a nutshell we have kept it as objective and simple as possible. Essentially, when Australia is awarded male / female quota(s) then the male / female athlete(s) with the lowest Q Points on or about the Nomination Date (22 January 2026) will be nominated by BA to the AOC – unless he/she is unable or ineligible to compete (eg due to injury, infringement, doping, etc).
Once nominated, it is up to the AOC to determine who they select for the team.
The Paralympic nomination criteria will be released in due course in collaboration with Paralympics Australia.
There is still plenty of time and racing between now and then with ample opportunity to reduce your Q Points. So, please keep training hard, keep your eye on the prize, & give it your best shot.
