National Team Camp Coach - Agnieszka Cyl
Dear Biathlon Family Australia,
Olympian Agnieszka Cyl has arrived in Australia to lead next week’s National Team Camp. Agnieszka has 125 World Cup starts and a number of perfect shooting scores in both World Cup and World Championship events. In IBU season 2009-2010 her hit rate, including relays, was 85% (319 hits from 377 shots). She shot clean (0,0,0,0) in the World Cup Pursuit in Oestersund, Sweden in IBU season 2011-12 and has also shot clean in both World Cup and World Championship Sprints and Relays. Agnieszka also won a bronze medal at the 2009 FISU World Winter University Games in Harbin, China in the Women’s 7.5km Sprint.
Agnieszka is currently Sports Director of Polish Biathlon and ongoing Coach of Polish Biathlon. In 2010 she was 1st in Pursuit and 2nd in Sprint in the Summer Biathlon World Championship Competitions. With a Crystal Globe, and a 7th place in Individual at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics shooting (0,1,0,0), she is well placed to inspire our participation and pathway athletes. Some of our athletes will know Agnieszka, especially those who took part in the Polish NF Partnership training camps in Europe last season. The IBU recently featured the Polish-Australian Biathlon Connection as a development project case study with BA coach Tosha Stopar receiving a special mention.
Biathlon Australia is also pleased to welcome Polish National Team athlete Fabian Suchodolski to Australia to join us at Whiskey Flat, Mount Hotham. Fabian is ranked 14th in IBU Junior Cup and shot clean in the Junior Cup Sprint in Poland earlier this year.
It’s great to have this talent in Australia inspiring our youth, juniors and next generation of Olympic aspirants.
David, Sandy, Murray, Brett, Tristan, Mark, Libby and Katerina
