Dear Biathlon Family Australia,

Our IBU Academy alumni continues to build with Toscha Stopar our latest freshly minted coach from the IBU Level 1 coaching course. Toscha successfully completed the 150 hours of approved biathlon specific training and covered the 45 practical hours within the IBU Coaching Framework. Toscha is our third graduate of the IBU Level 1 course. The Board is pleased to announce that Toscha, along with Paul Connor, are the Biathlon Australia appointed Range Managers for the 2025 winter season at Whiskey Flat, Mount Hotham. Toscha will also be leading the Future Stars Camp commencing at Hotham on Monday, 14 Jul 2025. Well done Toscha and thank you for your continued contributions to the development of biathlon in Australia.

Biathlon Australia is also pleased to announce that Cameron Morton, OLY has been selected for the next level, IBU Second Level coaching course. Lucy Glanville, OLY was our first graduate of this course and Damon Morton has just completed the second week of the Second Level Course in Lillehammer, Norway.

Other AUS NF coaches undertaking IBU Academy coach training include Heather Wiederkehr and Julia Smusz. Heather is this week undertaking the IBU Basic Coach education course at ULSZ/Olympic Center in Rif/Salzburg (AUT). Julia Smusz, on the other hand, is looking to be our fourth IBU Level 1 coaching course graduate when she commences her First Week on 4 May 2025 at Hochfilzen (AUT). We look forward to seeing their progress through to IBU Academy coaching accreditation. 

Biathlon Australia appreciates the support of the IBU Academy in providing our coaches these education opportunities. Biathlon Australia has now been successful in nominating seven coaches for IBU Academy coaching education:

·    Heather Wiederkehr (IBU Basic Course underway)
